The machine has a Wi-Fi hotspot. You connect the PC or smartphone to the Wi-Fi hotspot of the machine. Once that is connected, you can connect to the PC using the App.
No separate Wi-Fi network is required. The Wi-Fi required is built as a hotspot inside the machine. Just turn ON the machine and you will see the Simple Marker Wi-Fi network.
No, internet connection is not required for this machine to work. However, you may require internet connection the first time to register this machine.
The program is absolutely free to use with the machine. However, some advanced features of this program are paid features.

The machine has a capacity to store one pattern of strings. In that pattern, there can be up to 25 strings or logos (known as blocks).
Though the machine can store only one pattern or design, the application on the smartphone or PC can save many designs or patterns. There are two type of marking stylus available for use with the machine. One is the Dot Peen Stylus and other is the Vibropeen stylus. There are 2 sizes of Dot peen stylus and 3 sizes of vibropeen stylus available.
The Dot peen stylus is good for slightly deeper marking. It is also good for marking inside grooves, marking on uneven surfaces, marking on circumference, and marking on casting or forging surfaces. The marking happens a bit slower with this stylus.
The vibropeen stylus is good for a continuous line marking, faster marking on name plates or flat surfaces, machined surfaces and plastic components.
The machine comes with one Vibropeen stylus of 16mm piston.
You can either order additional stylus along with the machine or you can order them later from us. You will be asked to decide on the stylus to be ordered along with the machine.
Usually, the dot peen stylus is the most suitable for most of the applications. Moreover, it is easy to setup and work with. However, you can see the application videos of different stylus on this website and see if you can see something similar to what you want. The machine can mark simple alphanumeric text in a straight line, either horizontal or at an angle. Moreover, it can mark the text oriented around a circle. It can also mark DXF or HPGL logos. It can mark Datamatrx or QRCode barcodes. This feature is not available in free version though.

The material of marking tool is tungsten carbide up to 80 HRc hardness. We supply good tool from Sandvik / Kennametal.
The life of marking tool is very long. The tool needs to be re-sharpened once in six months when using for marking on steel parts up to 40 HRc. However, when marking on parts of higher hardness, the tool might get blunt very often and might require change very early.
